There are many who find a good alibi far more attractive than an achievement. For an achievement does not settle anything permanently. We still have to prove our worth anew each day: we have to prove that we are as good today as we were yesterday. But when we have a valid alibi for not achieving anything we are fixed, so to speak, for life.

In God's genius He put together form and order out of that which was formless and empty. He loves order - and He began to display the beauty of His handiwork. He called light in. He separated matter that was solid from matter that was space. He built the canvas of the universe above us. And He painted His world there - which still displays His glory. He put it all together so that humanity throughout time would see the glory of God. (See Genesis 1:6-13)
